Morgan Thompson

I believe in the transformative power of community and connection. I will work to help you cultivate warmth, empathy, and encouragement in your life. I understand that not everyone comes to therapy to look for answers, but rather to seek a nonjudgmental listener who can help organize thoughts, feelings, and steps forward. I believe one of the bravest things a person can do is ask for help. You are brave! In therapy, I practice from a person-centered lens that recognizes you as the expert on your own life. I see myself as a facilitator and compassionate witness in the process of self-discovery, but underline the importance of YOU being the leader of your own therapeutic journey.

My approach is influenced by my training in feminist and multicultural counseling; I am deeply invested in exploring the intersections of power and privilege that impact individuals' lives and the ways in which community engagement and sociopolitical activism can alleviate the heavy burden of systemic oppression.

Therapeutic Approach

My approach to therapy integrates elements of narrative therapy, acceptance & commitment therapy, Adlerian therapy, existential therapy, and cognitive-behavioral therapy. I feel at home working with neurodivergence, anxiety, grief, complex trauma, sexual concerns, queer identity exploration, gender-affirming care, and end-of-life reflection & planning.

As an anti-racist, sex-positive, ENM-competent, kink-informed, gender-affirming clinician and as a proud member of genderqueer, poly, and neurodivergent communities, I strive to create a space of safety and understanding for clients with values and lifestyles that exist a little outside the box.

Education & Training

I earned my M.A. in clinical mental health counseling from Adler University in 2023, my B.S. in psychology from Washington State University in 2019, and my A.A. from Columbia Basin College in 2017.
